Our vision
Tova is more than a boutique — it’s a place to slow down, feel good, and reconnect with yourself. Our vision is to create a space where everything you find has been chosen with intention, not just for how it looks, but for how it feels to wear, to gift, and to live with. We believe style isn’t about keeping up or fitting in, but about feeling comfortable, confident, and at ease in who you are. At Tova, we want people to walk in and feel a sense of calm, warmth, and ease — like they’ve found something that just feels right, because when something feels good, you carry that with you.
Our mission
Our mission at Tova is to thoughtfully curate pieces that help people feel comfortable, confident, and truly themselves. We aim to create a welcoming space where choosing what to wear feels simple, enjoyable, and free from pressure — supporting our belief to be kind to yourself and feel beautiful in what you choose every day.
Our Background
It started with Juliet.
She was ready to retire and invited her customers to consider taking over My Sister’s Wardrobe. She didn’t want it to close — she wanted it to continue, to stay alive in the town.
Kirsti saw the advert. She didn’t just see a shop for sale. She saw something worth keeping. Something worth protecting. She wanted the shop to continue to thrive in town. She told me she was thinking about taking it on.
I was thrilled for her. Instantly full of ideas. Rails, displays, branding, possibilities… and yes, the slightly less glamorous, and boring legal bits of running a business too. I probably overwhelmed her.
Then she did something I wasn’t expecting. She asked me to do it with her.
That night I couldn’t sleep. My brain was racing — excitement, possibility, “what if?”, “could we?”, “should we?” A couple of days later, I said yes.
And the whirlwind began.
We realised quite quickly that while the shop would continue, the name couldn’t. Neither of us actually wears our sister’s clothes… so it no longer felt right. But the heart could stay.
So we chose Tova — a name that means good, kind, and beautiful. It reflects how we want people to feel when they walk through the door, and the town itself — a place filled with people who are kind, good, and beautifully themselves, and who have supported the shop every step of the way.
And so here we are.
